Investigation of Formant Smoothening Using Poly-Fitting on Male/Female Speech

چکیده
Speech is the most innate and fastest means of communication between humans. There has been a significant amount of research in the field of speech signal processing, and numerous models have been designed. The evolutionary origins of speech remain obscure. An algorithm is designed to modify various speech parameters with different frame size using linear, quadratic, and cubic fitting method. Various frame level ranging from 10 to 50 are taken for synthesis of male and female speech. Perceptual experiments were also conducted to assess the quality of the synthesized speech. Unique pattern of PESQ score is obtained for linear, quadratic, and cubic fitting of human speech.

Optimizing Vowel Formant Measurements in Four Acoustic Analysis Systems for Diverse Speaker Groups.
PURPOSE This study systematically assessed the effects of select linear predictive coding (LPC) analysis parameter manipulations on vowel formant measurements for diverse speaker groups using 4 trademarked Speech Acoustic Analysis Software Packages (SAASPs): CSL, Praat, TF32, and WaveSurfer. METHOD Productions of 4 words containing the corner vowels were recorded from 4 speaker groups with ty...
متن کاملStatistical Variation Analysis of Formant and Pitch Frequencies in Anger and Happiness Emotional Sentences in Farsi Language
Setup of an emotion recognition or emotional speech recognition system is directly related to how emotion changes the speech features. In this research, the influence of emotion on the anger and happiness was evaluated and the results were compared with the neutral speech. So the pitch frequency and the first three formant frequencies were used. The experimental results showed that there are lo...
متن کاملProduction and perception of greek vowels in normal and cerebral palsy speech
This study investigates the perceptual consequences and differences in vowel production between cerebral palsy (CP) afflicted Greek speakers and their normal counterparts. Formant (F1 and F2) values for the five vowels of Modern Greek were extracted from productions of both male and female speakers in stressed and unstressed conditions. These same productions were presented to normal hearing Gr...
متن کاملAcoustic analysis of bangla consonants
This paper describes the acoustic characteristics of Bangla consonants, obtained by analyzing the recordings of male and female voices. First, the duration of each phoneme was identified by averaging both the male and female voice data; then, formant were measured and formant comparison was made for controversial phonemes, which also served to resolve the controversies in the existing phoneme i...
متن کاملBehavioral evidence of a dissociation between voice gender categorization and phoneme categorization using auditory morphed stimuli
Both voice gender perception and speech perception rely on neuronal populations located in the peri-sylvian areas. However, whilst functional imaging studies suggest a left vs. right hemisphere and anterior vs. posterior dissociation between voice and speech categorization, psycholinguistic studies on talker variability suggest that these two processes share common mechanisms. In this study, we...
